1973 the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do took a step
forward from all the other martial arts, as it became an
Olympic sport in its own right. The only other martial art
that is an Olympic sport is the Japanese art of Judo.
Tae Kwon Do is one of the most systematic and scientific
Korean traditional martial arts and today, it has become a
global sport that has gained an international reputation and
stands among the official games of the Olympics.
